Project Brief

Lasoo.com.au is becoming a leader in shopping aggregation. We have taken key steps to ensure the shopping information we hold is easily accessible to our audience. This has been the catalyst for mobile optimisation throughout our online presence.
The entire Lasoo website has been redesigned to ensure it looks great on desktop and tablet devices. Our mobile site m.lasoo.com.au makes it easy to navigate when viewing on a mobile device.
We also have native apps for iPhone, Android and Windows to ensure the best possible experience with integration to key functionality such as camera, notifications and more.
We also redesigned our Universal Catalogue, the hosting platform that powers Lasoo and the catalogues on the major retailer websites, to ensure it was built in HTML5 and was responsive design.
Similarly, we redesigned our Newsletter to ensure it was mobile responsive to create a streamline mobile experience for our users.

Lasoo has also launched a new feature in the Lasoo iPhone App - Lasoo.it which will further enhance the mobile experience for our users, allow them to Scan, Shop, Share & Compare any deal with a barcode. This innovation in the mobile space is building a platform that creates a social layer to shopping, allowing the propagation of deals and bridging physical deals into the digital world through crowdsourcing.

Project Need

Our design puts catalogues and search, our most popular features in the forefront of the user experience. Our Universal Catalogue platform, which hosts all the catalogues, is socially shareable, facilitating sharing of content onto Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter.
The catalogues are also built with rich images and embedded video facilitating a rich and engaging experience on web and tablet devices.

User Experience

To create the best user experience we also enabled key functionality to be synced from the website, to mobile. For example a user can create their shopping list on Lasoo.com.au and this same shopping list can be accessed on the iPhone App, which not only creates a unified shopping experience, but also increases their propensity to purchase the item.
Our iPhone App has consistently been featured in the Top 10 app in the Catalogue category on the App store. More than 30% of Lasoo's total traffic is now coming from mobile devices, which highlights our support of mobile accessibility has provided great returns

Project Marketing

The Lasoo Mobile App has been downloaded more than 500,000 times across iPhone, Android and Windows. We support the native apps through ads on Facebook as well as internal promotions. We have also inbuilt a redirect on the website to the m.lasoo.com.au site when we detect a person is using a mobile device and accesses the website on their phone browser.
We have also received PR surrounding our iPhone App relaunch in May in publications such as Lifehacker, CNet and Current.com.au.




This category recognises migration of an audience from a traditional media to a mobile platform.
