Project Overview
New England High Country in New South Wales, Australia, offers visitors a truly evocative and unique experience. The city of Armidale and the towns of Guyra, Uralla and Walcha share a rich history and stunning natural environment.
This app showcases the region's spectacular waterfalls, gorges and world-heritage national parks in interactive 360 degree panoramas, video, fullscreen images and offers location information via Google maps.
Additional information on the region is available, in app, from the Visitors Guide that provides links to attractions, tours and accommodation in the region.
Project Brief
To create a unique visual experience highlighting six locations within the Armidale region. Each experience will provide a compelling interactive environment with 360° Panoramas, Slideshows, Videos, maps and information.
Project Innovation / Need
The "Experience the Highs" app is one of the first travel apps to use high quality 360° Panoramic Images as the primary visual reference. This app provides both Gyroscopic control and touch control of the panoramas to enhance the immersive quality of the experience.
User Experience
The app is intended to provide a fully engaging experience for the reader. As the reader advances through the app they can interact with the app in a number of ways. Primarily they will explore the 6 locations through a combination of touch, gyro control, tapping and swiping.
The process provides a sense of discovery by overlaying and combining multimedia options such as slideshows, videos, google maps and interactive panoramas.
Project Marketing
The marketing strategy is to provide an across the board approach to marketing the Armidale region via the Experience the Highs, iPad App, Website, Facebook and Twitter feed.
