A loyalty card app that stores multiple loyalty cards and now includes a payment gateway to provide customers a combined payment and loyalty card option.

Project Brief

Buy a coffee and instead of punching a paper card, open the app on iphone, android or Blackberry and scan the unique QR code located on the counter in over 400 cafes nationally. We now provide a payment solution which enables you to order, pay and stamp your loyalty card in less than 5 seconds.

Project Innovation / Need

Innovating the fragmented cafe space.
The problem has been finding a solution that does not require expensive hardware to be installed in each cafe and rather providing a solution whereby the hardware and internet connectivity onus is on the user side.
Our process reduces a typical transaction time from 30s to less than 5s.
Not only have we built and proven the model works, we have a national footprint of 400 cafes and nearly 50,000 users.

User Experience

We started with loyalty only and gave the product to cafes and customers for free. We have now introduced a payment system to further speed up the process.
The users engages with our product because on average each coffee drinker has 3.3 loyalty cards just for coffee in their wallet and this provides a digital solution to this problem where they also lose their cards.
From a cafe's point of view, not handling cash or stamping a card significantly reduces the time taken for each order, whilst still maintaining the important face to face communication which provides cafes up-sell opportunities.

Project Marketing

We have an A4 image on the counter of each cafe. Once a user joins, this is posted to facebook and they have the opportunity to refer a friend or a cafe. This word of mouth marketing has taken us start to nearly 50,000 users in just 4 months with a marketing spend of just $7 in each cafe for A4 stands.
